The Lviv Herald is delighted to report that Scott Anderson, its Chief Military Affairs correspondent, has been elected with a resounding majority to the Canadian federal parliamentary riding (constituency) of Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee, in the Canadian general election of 28 April 2025. Mr Anderson stood for the Conservative Party of Canada, beating his liberal opponent and other candidates and taking an estimated 51-52% of the vote.

Mr Anderson is a retired officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and a visitor to the front line in Ukraine. He advocates civilian and military support to Ukraine throughout Canada and elsewhere in the western hemisphere. He stood for elected office on a clear platform of Canadian support for Ukraine, demonstrating the unwavering support of the people of Canada for Ukraine in her struggle against the Russian invaders.

Mr Anderson also holds military accreditation as a journalist with the Armed Forces of Ukraine after approval of the State Security Service of Ukraine.

The Lviv Herald is honoured and elated to announce Mr Anderson's electoral success in the Canadian Federal Parliament, and we hope he can continue his contributions to the work of the journal and its associated organisations, as well as maintain his steadfast support for Ukraine and her people in the face of relentless Russian aggression.

Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
